What to Bring and Wear
There is a kitchen at the Zen Center with a refrigerator,
microwave and stove. You may well find that you want to stay at
the Center for lunch, so we suggest you bring a packed lunch
with you. If you prefer to eat out, there are many excellent
restaurants a short drive away in Lexington Center, and we will have restaurant information
available for you. Also feel free to bring snacks and beverages. Please note
that you may bring only closable containers into the workshop room.
The Zen Center has a beautiful wood floor on which most of the
explorations will be done lying, so please bring
comfortable padding (e.g., yoga mat and/or blanket) and a cushion
or pillow so that you can relax and
fully enjoy the experience. We recommend that you bring a pillow
or neck roll that can be used to provide comfortable support for
your neck when you are lying, as this may be especially
important for some of the explorations. Also, wear loose fitting,
comfortable clothes and bring layers as you may find your
temperature varying throughout the day.
We'll be sitting in chairs for the Thursday evening
Completion Event, so you don't need to bring anything special
(except your wonderful self) to that.
You may find it useful to bring a notepad and pen to the
Friday evening session and to the Thursday evening Completion Event.
What to Expect After the Program Days
The explorations on Saturday and Sunday will feel gentle and
relaxing. However, your mind, body and emotions will be making
changes at deep levels. People often feel the need for sleep and rest after changes like these, so we
recommend that you only make plans that are likely to feel
nurturing for you for the
weekend of the program.
